Eirtakon 09

The Committee for EirtaKon 09 has been confirmed and has begun work on next November's convention. Stephen Fox, a veteran member of the organizing committee takes over the reins this year and promises that next year's convention will be even bigger and better than EirtaKon 08.

Over the past couple of months, the committee has been sorting through the vast amount of feedback and suggestions received since the last convention and are on course to improving the quality and content of next years convention. Feedback from the attendees has always been important to the evolution of the convention and after the success of the convention last November, ensuring that the quality and enjoyability of the convention are maintained and even improved is of utmost priority to this year's organizers.

Once again the convention will take place in The Hub on the campus of Dublin City University in November (on a date to be confirmed soon). Already confirmed as returning are the traders from last year, the Artist's Alley, the annual Anime & Manga Pub Quiz, the numerous cosplay competitions, the AMV competition, the gaming corner, panels, workshops, showings and much more.

More details regarding the date, ticket pricing and availability, event registration and guest attendance will be made available in the coming weeks.

The web admin is also working on a video section to bring the best of last year's AMV competition to you along with new photo galleries, packed full of the official photographs from the convention.

EirtaKon is currently going into its fifth year and has experienced phenomenal growth throughout its life. Last years attendees smashed the previous years record with over 740 paying attendees present at the convention over the weekend. 2008 also brought the first industry guest, Vic Migogna, to EirtaKon and he proved at hit with fans of all ages.
