EirtaKon 2010 Ireland's largest anime convention

Dublin, Ireland April 15th 2008 The Eirtakon organisers have today confirmed the dates and prices for Eirtakon 08, Ireland's biggest anime event.

Eirtakon will once again take place in November, this time on the weekend of the 14th to the 16th, with an unparalleled lineup of screenings, competitions, traders and more already in place. As previously announced at the end of Eirtakon 07 MK II, our special guest this year will be none other than Vic Mignogna, best known as the voice of Edward in Full Metal Alchemist.

December 10th, 2007, Dublin Ireland: Eirtakon, Ireland's premier anime event, has confirmed the working committee for Eirtakon 08.

The working committee will be in place until April 2008, when the full committee for Eirtakon 08 will be appointed. Until then this committee, comprised entirely of members of the Eirtakon 07 MK II board, will be working to set the foundations for next year's convention.

November 28th 2007, Dublin Ireland: With the success of Eirtakon 07 MK II still fresh in everyone's minds, the committee has but one announcement: the Ed man cometh!

By that we mean that none other than Vic Mignogna, the voice behind Full Metal Alchemist's main protagonist Edward Elric, will be our star guest at Eirtakon 08. The announcement was made during the closing ceremony for Eirtakon 07 MK II, which was met with massive applause by the 250 strong attendees in the room.

September 16th 2007, Dublin Ireland: Eirtakon, the Republic of Ireland's premier anime event, is proud to announce that pre-registration has opened for this years festivities.

September 4th 2007, Dublin Ireland: Eirtakon, the Republic of Ireland's premier anime event, has announced two more traders who will be bringing an extensive collection of clothes and goods for sale to the convention.

July 25th 2007, Dublin Ireland: Eirtakon, the Republic of Ireland's premier anime event, has announced details of the cosplay competitions set to take place during the weekend-long celebration of eveything Japanese.

This year for Eirtakon 07 MK II expect lots of exciting cosplay competitions! Along with the traditional masquerade ball you can expect competitions such as roleplay skits, themed competitions and individual roleplay performances.

April 2nd, 2007, Dublin Ireland: The committee for Eirtakon 07 MK II, the Republic of Ireland's premier anime event, was decided on Thursday, March 29th at the first committee meeting of the year. The meeting was held in The Hub, Dublin City University.

Hey everyone,
Just to introduce myself first, I am the Convention Director for Eirtakon 07 MK II. After the success of this February's event, we are really excited about the prospects for the upcoming spectacle in November. Stay tuned to here for regular updates on guests, traders, events, special showings and the like.
Now down to business... I've got two items of news for today:

1) Eirtakon 07 Mk II will be held in the HUB, DCU over the weekend of the 23rd, 24th and 25th of November 2007. Prices will be confirmed at a later date.

2) At 18:00 on Thursday 29th of March 2007 the committee for Eirtakon 07 MK II will be decided at a special meeting in DCU (in the seminar room, upstairs in The Hub).

All who are interested in running for positions are welcome (regardless of whether or not you attend or have attended DCU).

Positions are decided on merit and not by popular vote, thus people not able to come etc can still take up a position.
